80’leri analım: Laura Branigan

80’ler öldü! şeklinde gazete başlıkları ile vefatı duyurulan kişilik Laura Branigan. Özellikle 1984 yılında çıkardığı Self Control şarkısı ile ün yapmış, 80’leri görenlerin bizim zamanımızda Laura Branigan’ın Self Control diye bir şarkısı vardı of da off dedikleri, görmeyenlerin de anne ve babasına 10 yıl daha erken birleşmedikleri için kızmalarına neden olan sanatçı kişiliklerden biridir.

Laura Branigan 3 Temmuz 1957 New York’un Brewster kasabası doğumlu biridir. 2004 yılının bir 26 Ağustos Perşembe gece uykusunda iken uzun süredir çektiği başağrılarına gereken önemi vermemesi sebebiyle geçirdiği beyin anevrizmasından ölmüştür. Bu ölüm ise gazetelere “80’ler öldü” başlığı ile yansımıştır!

Tarihe damgasını vurmuş temel eseri Self Control olup diğer eserleri bunun kadar tutulmamış, aslında tüm diğer şarkıları beğenilmiş ve o dönemde tutulmuştur ama şu an çoğu kişinin tek bildiği bu Self Control dediğimizdir. Bu sebeple diğer eserleri bu kadar tutulmamıştır diye bir cümle kurdum. Daha öncesinde de enfes eseri Gloria ile Grammy ödülü falan almış bir kişidir.

Ayrıca An American Girl In Berlin, Mugsy’s Girl, Backstage gibi filmlerde de oynamış şahıstır.

Dedim ya, kadın 26 Ağustos 2004’te ölmüş diye. Bu günün anısına biz de 80’leri analım ve o Self Control şaheserinin video klibini de koyayım, analım biraz bu merhum hatunu. Klip o zamanlar biraz pornografik bulunmuş sanırım ama ben pek bir öyle alaka alamadım. Sanırım bunun nedeni günümüzde pornografik olmayanına klip denilmemesi. 😀
